As a philosophy instructor, Shawn aims to facilitate the development of students’ critical thinking skills by challenging and supporting students through the learning process, demonstrating the fun of philosophy through enthusiastic and interactive teaching, and being a fellow learner open to others’ ideas and questions.
Shawn earned his Master’s degree in philosophy from Colorado State University in 2010 and his Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of North Florida in 2007. He holds a Senior Teaching Appointment within the Philosophy Department and has been teaching since 2011. Shawn teaches PHIL 103 – Moral and Social Problems.
Outside of philosophy, Shawn enjoys landscape photography, hiking, and traveling.
